This is a new build project, the plot extends to one acre in size.Working closely with the clients our in house designer created a full master for the whole site. The design comprises of three main garden spaces. The drive and front garden, rear garden and courtyard and kitchen garden with small arboretum.
The rear garden is south facing and employs pleached trees to provide enclosure around the large courtyard. The other rationale for using the trees is they will also provide partial shade at higher levels, but allow sunlight through to the planting scheme and seating areas below.
The main features in the front garden are the multi stem Silver Birch trees with under planting. A Corten steel planter with Mediterranean type plants. And Yew cubes which help provide structure and define pathways and borders.
The kitchen garden will feature a greenhouse, utility space and composting area. Pathways will join the area throughout the property and the overall scheme will have a broad selection of specimen trees and shrubs. The existing mature trees will be under sown with a wild flower mix.
